Dr. Spicer specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Social Anxiety, Phobias, Panic Attacks, and Generalized Anxiety. She also works with clients experiencing depression, relational problems, eating issues, and other presenting concerns. Dr. Spicer uses cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and psychodynamic therapy to help clients achieve their goals and live more fulfilling lives. As a Christian, she incorporates faith into therapy when requested by clients.
Dr. Spicer earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology at Ohio University in 2010. She completed her clinical year-long internship at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. Before moving back to Ohio, Dr. Spicer was in private practice for two and a half years in Oklahoma City. During her work in Oklahoma, she led an OCD Support Group for two years. Dr. Spicer was also an assistant professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Central Oklahoma, where she taught graduate and undergraduate courses. She has worked internationally, in Ukraine, for two years as a professor of psychology and therapist in a student counseling center. Dr. Spicer speaks Ukrainian and Russian fluently.
Dr. Spicer is a member of the International OCD Foundation.
